Reseller Hosting Terms

Reseller Agreement

This agreement explains the additional terms that apply when you use HostMeerkat reseller hosting services to create, manage, sell, or support hosting accounts for your own customers.

Last updated: 04 June 2026 United Kingdom

1. Overview

The Reseller Agreement applies in addition to our Terms and Conditions, Acceptable Use rules, Anti-Spam Policy, Privacy Policy, and any service-specific order terms. By ordering or using reseller hosting, you agree to this agreement.

Reseller hosting allows you to create and manage hosting accounts for your own customers using HostMeerkat infrastructure. You remain responsible for how your reseller account, sub-accounts, users, websites, mailboxes, and applications are used.

2. Your Role as Reseller

You act as the direct service provider to your own end customers unless we agree otherwise in writing. You are responsible for your own sales process, pricing, invoices, tax obligations, customer onboarding, terms, support commitments, and relationship with end customers.

HostMeerkat provides the underlying hosting platform to you. We do not automatically become a party to your contracts with your end customers.

3. End Customer Management

You must ensure your end customers follow all applicable HostMeerkat policies. If an end customer sends spam, hosts malware, overloads resources, breaches law, or abuses the platform, the activity is treated as activity under your reseller account.

You must maintain accurate customer records and be able to contact affected customers quickly when security, abuse, billing, or technical issues arise.

4. Billing and Payment

You are responsible for paying HostMeerkat for your reseller service according to the billing cycle, renewal date, and invoice terms shown at checkout or in the client area. Your obligation to pay us is separate from whether your own customers have paid you.

Late or failed payment may lead to reminders, service restrictions, suspension, termination, or data removal according to our standard billing policies.

5. Branding and White-Label Use

Where the service includes white-label or private-label features, you may present hosting services under your own brand provided you do not misrepresent the infrastructure, make false performance claims, or imply partnership, agency, certification, or endorsement beyond what we have agreed.

You must not use HostMeerkat trademarks, logos, or copyrighted material in a misleading way or in marketing that breaches law or platform policies.

6. Support Responsibilities

You are expected to provide first-line support to your own end customers. This includes basic account questions, password resets, website changes, email-client setup, CMS guidance, and customer communication.

HostMeerkat provides support to you as the reseller for platform-level issues. We may decline direct support to your end customers unless we choose to assist, the issue is urgent, or direct contact is necessary for security or abuse remediation.

7. Resource Allocation and Fair Use

Reseller plans include defined storage, bandwidth, account limits, CPU, memory, inode, email, and other resource limits. You must allocate resources responsibly and avoid overselling in a way that creates instability or poor customer experience.

We may apply fair-use controls, rate limits, throttling, account restrictions, or upgrade recommendations when usage risks performance, security, deliverability, or service reliability.

8. Security Responsibilities

You must secure reseller credentials, WHM/cPanel access, customer passwords, DNS controls, CMS installations, scripts, themes, plugins, and email accounts. You must remove inactive users and respond promptly to security notices.

If your reseller account or a sub-account is compromised, we may reset passwords, disable access, suspend affected services, or require remediation before access is restored.

9. Acceptable Use and Prohibited Activity

You and your end customers must not use reseller hosting for spam, phishing, malware, fraud, illegal content, copyright abuse, excessive resource consumption, open proxies, abusive automation, network attacks, or any activity that harms other customers or our reputation.

You must cooperate with abuse investigations and ensure end customers remediate breaches promptly.

10. Backups and Data Responsibility

You are responsible for maintaining independent backups of your reseller account and your customers' data. Any backup service provided by HostMeerkat is a convenience and does not replace your own backup obligations.

You should test restoration procedures regularly and keep off-platform backups for critical websites, databases, email, and configuration files.

11. Suspension, Termination, and Data Removal

We may suspend or terminate reseller services for non-payment, serious abuse, security risk, policy breach, excessive resource usage, legal requirement, or failure to cooperate with remediation. Suspension may affect all sub-accounts under the reseller package.

After termination or expiry, data may be deleted according to our retention and cancellation policies. You are responsible for notifying your end customers and exporting data before service closure where required.
